Filipe is a dedicated and compassionate Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist. After completing his medical degree with honours, he undertook physician training at St Vincent's Melbourne and advanced haematology training across The Alfred, Monash, and St Vincent's.

He later completed laboratory training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and holds public appointments as a Consultant Haematologist at Western Health and Monash Health.

Filipe treats all benign and malignant haematological conditions. He has a special interest in aggressive lymphomas, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and T-cell lymphomas, and in the use of technology in medicine.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a haematologist?

Yes. A referral from your general practitioner (GP) is required for a specialist appointment and for the Medicare rebate. Referrals can be faxed to 03 9317 5501 or emailed to info@qcspecialists.com.au, and the rooms will contact you to arrange a booking.

How do I book an appointment?

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your referral letter, Medicare and concession cards, any recent blood tests or imaging (such as CT or ultrasound scans), a list of your current medications, and details of any other specialists involved in your care.

What are the fees?

We are a private billing practice. Your consultation fees and the applicable Medicare rebate will be explained when you book, and Medicare online claiming is available.

Is telehealth available?

Yes. Video consultations are available for new and review patients, including rural and regional patients, and a Medicare rebate applies.

Is parking available?

Free on-site parking is available at our St Albans rooms at 502 Main Road W, which are also easily accessible by public transport.
